Cirque du Babus

A lot of you might not know this, but I am a huge....huge...cirque du soleil dork.

One by one, these little lovies have been drifting into my life at various shows since their introduction.

I think I am only missing the character from Iris, but I haven't seen Iris, so that probably explains that.

I have Green Bird from La Nouba, which is probably my favorite Cirque show...and she's my favorite character from that, so..I needed her. She's adorable in plush form and in real life. She makes a lot of appearances on billboards and merchandise and signage...but she's actually in the show a lot. She's such an adorable bumbler. She tries so hard to be a great and graceful bird, but she's awkward and precious. You go, Green Bird.

I got Tarantula (Say it "Taran-Too-La") from Zarkana. I really love this character's outfit, but I am so perplexed as to WHY WHY WHY there is so much Tarantula merchandise when she is literally only in 5 minutes of the show. Seriously, at the new installation of the show at the Aria, her silhouette is on the bathroom for ladies. Main man Zark is on the men's room door. I'm not complaining since she's really cool and all, I'm just curious. I saw the show back in New York, so I guess that makes me a Zarkana hipster. "I saw it with Garou at Radio City Music Hall before the show went mainstream in Vegas." Whatever. In my travels, I scored this little Bebeh and a Tarantula shirt.

O Stripey/Zebra. Freakishly adorable...and in about 5 minutes of the show as an act, but these adorable stripey acrobats appear at various times throughout O. God, they are adorable. They kind of act like penguins in the show, but are clearly not supposed to be them...I guess. O is easily one of the most surreal shows I have ever seen in the history of ever. Zarkana, which boasts itself as surreal, wishes it was as a 1/4 as surreal as O.


I foresee these babus being adorable together in the future.
